Bringhton vs Manchester United Match Day News

Bringhton vs Manchester United Today Match

Three days after making it through to the FA Cup semi-final, Manchester United are back in Premier League action on Tuesday as they take on Brighton at the Amex Stadium.

The match is United’s third league match of the restart with the team having picked up four points from their opening two matches against Tottenham and Sheffield United.

Brighton have the same record since the restart as they look to move away from the relegation zone.

United though have loftier aspirations higher up the table, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men aiming to close the gap on the Champions League places and pile more pressure onto Chelsea and Leicester City ahead of their games on Wednesday. Three points would take United above Wolves and to within two points of Chelsea.

Team News

  • Brighton have come out of lockdown in good form and Graham Potter should stick with the bulk of the side from their opening two games.
  • Adam Webster is unlikely to play after suffering a hamstring injury in their 0-0 draw away to Leicester last week. Shane Duffy will start instead.
  • Former Chelsea defender Tariq Lamptey did well on his Premier League debut for Brghton last week and will hope to retain his spot at right-back here.
  • Davy Propper and Dale Stephens are in competition to start alongside Yves Bissouma in midfield.
  • Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made wholesale changes for Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final triumph over Norwich and will recall the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba to the starting XI on Tuesday night.
  • Mason Greenwood and Daniel James will battle for a starting spot on the right wing, with the former expected to get the nod against Brighton.
  • Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe remain United's only injury concerns, though neither would have started here.
