GLENDALE, Ariz. - Kyler Murray and Carolina's Kyle Allen in Arizona will be competing for the spotlight when the two teams face each other Sunday in Week 3.
In some ways, like in the old times for quarterback and old college teammates.
Allen will begin his second career after the team left the starter Cam Newton to sift due to a midfielder sprain on September 12th. Allen defeated the New Orleans team he had been looking for before defeating the New Orleans team in the 17th week, before the 1-0 playoffs.
Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury doesn't expect any frustration, even if it's not Newton from the Panthers.
Bury When Kyle Allen made his last move on the court, they had won and earned 30 points on the way, Kings Kingsbury said. "We know our hands will be full."
Murray, the # 1 general election in April, made a promising start to his NFL career. The second quarterback in NFL history to throw at least 300 meters in the first two career games.
The other guy? Newton, number 1 in 2011. Both won the Heisman Cup.
But now Newton can't go, the Panthers (0-2) return to Allen in his second season. In 2015, Murray and Allen devoted the time to a team that finished 8-5 in Texas A & M.
In a strange twist, two of the top-rated novices were transferred at the end of the season. They say they are getting along well, even if conditions are not ideal. Murray called it a difficult situation. Allen said, "they're never super tight. We clearly respect each other."
Now they will be in the same NFL field.
Ay We went to school together. We played together.. Orum I can't exactly control who started there. It's their business. I just have to get ready to play, and whoever the quarterback is, the quarterback. ”
YOUTH FOUNTAIN
Buyer Larry Fitzgerald looked 10 years younger with 13 games of 217 yards and a touchdown in the first two matches of the Cardinals.
The 36-year-old has developed a quick relationship with Murray and the connection seems to be a go-to for all seasons Arizona (0-1-1). Panther trainer Ron Rivera said Fitzgerald was an actor with Panther TE Greg Olsen, whom he encouraged to imitate young players.
"He's the right person, the right young man who understands what it takes to succeed in the right game," Rivera said. Gerekirse To be honest, it doesn't surprise me that he still plays, and it doesn't surprise me that he succeeds as he does because he works. ”
RED REGION WOOL
Arizona's crime was very effective this year, except when it entered the red zone. This was a major problem in his loss to Baltimore on 23-17 last week: the Cardinals had to settle for three field targets after entering Baltimore's 5-yard line. Help David Johnson enter the game. There were only 14 yards thrown into seven cars on week 2.
A RED CHILD
Panthers can be 0-2, but it has nothing to do with Luke Kuechly's lineback player, who is off for another great start. In the five-time All-Pro election, there were 17 teams, including a final fight as Peyton Barber ran back for safety in a 20-14 loss to Buccaneers last week. Kuechly now has 973 battles in his career, surpassing Brian Urlacher, the Hall of Fame linebacker, in which he struggled most in the first eight seasons. Kuechly's average of 9.4 armor sets per game is second only to Miami's Zach Thomas (9.8) in NFL history.
Var There are smart defensive players like this, Kings Kingsbury said. Lar It starts with Kuechly, who lined up everything and had a very good feeling for the game, and knew which crimes wouldn't even be committed. ”
ALL McCAFFREY, ALL TIME
Panthers, aggressive coordinator Norv Turner said that before the season, Christian McCaffrey wanted to limit his fear of doing his job. That didn't really happen. Over the course of two games, McCaffrey entered the field of all 137 offensive games. After combining the two TDs against 209 yards of aggression and the season opener Rams, McCaffrey will continue on his way to Arizona after being held 53 yards by Bucs. The Panthers scored 14 points against Tampa Bay, but provided four goals and security.
THIRD-DOWN STRUGGLES
If the panthers want to be successful in committing a crime, they must start by moving the chains and continuing the ride. Carolina converts 32% (8 out of 25) of her third output, and 0 out of 3 in the fourth downconversion. The Panthers did not use multidimensional Newton as a runner in the past because of shoulder and foot problems. In fact, Newton has two messy five carriers for minus-2 yards. While Allen is expected to start from QB, he can add another dimension to the crime.
